OESC
OFFERS NEW, CONVENIENT WAY TO FILE FOR BENEFITS In light of the current economic conditions, Oklahoma Employment
Security Commission Executive Director Jon Brock is asking all print and
broadcast news outlets to notify the public of new options now available for
filing unemployment benefit claims. OKLAHOMA CITY, OK –
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC) announced today
that a new online claims filing system is now open to the public. By
offering the choice to file unemployment benefit claims by Internet, the
OESC gives Oklahomans a convenient and secure
alternative to submitting claims either in person or over the phone
via the OESC call center. This new online service is available 24 hours a
day, seven days a week for anyone filing an initial claim for benefits.
Please note that only initial claims are being taken by the system at this
time. Simply go to http://www.oesc.state.ok.us and click on the
“File Your Claim for Unemployment” link to be taken right to the
website. The system will walk customers through step-by-step. This quick, convenient and secure website is the
latest in a host of services that the OESC now offers online to better serve
our customers. Some of these other services include
OK SkillsNET (www.okskills.net), Oklahoma Job Link (www.oklahomajoblink.com)
and online new hire reporting for businesses. The biggest benefit of
these online tools is that anywhere you can access the Internet (including
the Resource Room at any local Workforce Oklahoma office), you can now
easily access the OESC’s services. According to OESC Executive Director Jon
Brock, Internet-accessible services such as online claims filing benefit not
only Oklahomans, but also our agency and the state itself. “By
filing unemployment claims over the Internet, we will be able to offer more
convenience to our customers and, at the same time, reduce the burden on our
call centers,” said Mr. Brock. “Like all other state agencies, OESC is
looking for ways to do more with less.” Once again, this system is currently ONLY
for filing initial, or new, claims for unemployment benefits. All other
claims must be filed at a local Workforce Oklahoma office or via the OESC
Call Center, a service available to those living in the Oklahoma City or
Tulsa metropolitan areas. The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission strives
to be the foundation in building a world-class workforce system in Oklahoma
by offering the highest quality services from a friendly, knowledgeable
staff and user-friendly technology. Through this effort, the OESC acts as a
source of hope and economic stability for the people of Oklahoma. # # # |
