WORKFORCE OKLAHOMA REOPENS SAND SPRINGS OFFICE

Oklahoma Employment Security Commission Executive Director Jon Brock is asking all print and broadcast news outlets to notify the public about changes in existing service locations for the Tulsa area.

SAND SPRINGS, OK – Sand Springs will have its own Workforce Oklahoma location once again starting March 1, 2004, according to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC). The local Workforce Oklahoma office, which was temporarily closed for budgetary reasons last fall, will reopen at its former location of 11 East Broadway, Suite 207 in Sand Springs.

The Workforce Oklahoma location will serve Sand Springs and the surrounding area. The full-service One-stop center will ease the burden on those who were traveling to nearby Sapulpa or Tulsa to receive services. The reopening was encouraged by numerous local and state leaders.

Richard McPherson, Director of Field Operations for OESC, says the reopening reflects the agency’s commitment to their customers. “The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, like many other state agencies, is more challenged than ever to maintain current service levels due to shrinking budgets,” he explained. “But the bottom line is that we are here is to serve our customers, and we will continue to find ways to do this.”

Beginning Monday, March 1, 2004, anyone wishing to contact the Sand Springs Workforce Oklahoma location can call (918) 245-9544 from anywhere or (888) 980-WORK (9675) in the Sand Springs area.

Workforce Oklahoma is a partnership between the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services, local workforce councils, and other state and community entities. The one-stop approach used in the design of each Workforce Oklahoma Center is meant to provide all of the workforce assistance a person could need in one location.
