NAUIAB Conference
Oklahoma City
July 10-14, 2011

Oklahoma City has been chosen as the site for our 2011 National Association of Unemployment Insurance Appellate Boards Conference. It promises to be a great conference, with CLE, educational and training programs, first-class accommodations and entertainment opportunities galore.

Oklahoma City is western adventure blended with the excitement of a cosmopolitan city. From the historic Old West in Stockyards City , the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the Oklahoma History Center, and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art to the vibrant energy of the Bricktown Entertainment District —from cowboy to contemporary, hip to historic, Oklahoma City has it all.

Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett, named one of the best mayors in the world, and recognized for his efforts to improve public health by putting the city on a diet, will greet attendees and introduce NAUIAB’s own fitness challenge. Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice John Reif will present a no-nonsense presentation containing suggestions from and the requirements of Higher authorities for Review of Administrative Hearings. Ethics CLE and training for the Certified Appeals Professional program will also be on the agenda, as well as lively discussions of Appeal System Redesigns, increased workloads, and updates from USDOL.

The conference will be held in the Marriott Renaissance Hotel and the Cox Convention Center, with a connecting sky walk; located in the heart of downtown, with many dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities within walking distance or a convenient Trolley ride away with a stop right at the hotel.  Along with CLE and educational programs that members have come to expect, there will be a Group tour of Oklahoma City Memorial Museum and memorial grounds, as well as an an opportunity for an evening excursion to the World Famous Woody Guthrie Music Festival.

It will be a chance to brush up on essential skills, network with other members, old friends and new, and maybe even learn to line dance, in one of the Southwest’s most hospitable and fastest growing meeting destinations.
